This weekend Kristy, Sarah and I traveled to Providence RI for the sweeps and sculls regatta. I tried out car topping Dauntless on top of the Zip car for the first time and it worked out pretty well. I booked us a hotel room via priceline and discovered never use priceline for anything less than 2 1/2 stars. The room we got was at an Extended Stay Suites in Westfield, a no frills hotel that doesn't include housekeeping. We had to pay $20 extra for a room with 2 beds. When we went to sleep we found out that one of the beds was broken and Sarah ended up sleeping on the floor.
My 1x Masters race was very competitive, even more competitive then IDR. I also raced my first 1x 2k in the open category. I have to say I'm a fan of 2k races and i plan on doing more of them. Despite catching two crabs and hitting a buoy (oar only) managed to beat at least one boat and come in 30 seconds out of first.
I also ran into one of my old coworkers Hillary from Boston.
